On Becoming a Dad

Hey friend,

I hope you've been well!  

My life has been a bit crazy lately… A week or so ago my daughter Olivia was born, and I have just been soaking up the dad life! From cuddling on the couch, to being up at all hours of the night burping and changing diapers, it’s been a blast!

For years I knew I wanted to be a dad, and I always felt like it would be special to have a daughter. Last year when we found out on our anniversary trip to Oregon that we were having a girl, I felt like the luckiest guy in the world!

Now that she is finally here, my life feels so full, and still kind of surreal. It’s a strange adjustment to all of a sudden have a child to take care of. I lived 35 years focusing on my goals and building up the life that I wanted, and then all of a sudden, everything changed in a moment.

This next chapter is going to be one I will cherish and soak in every moment of. Constantly reminding myself to take in the good with the bad, being present, knowing how fast it will fly by!

I can’t wait to teach her how to play piano, and produce music like her dad. I hope that one day we will make music together and that she will share in my passion for being creative! I’ve been playing piano for her nearly every day and playing her my music so it’s only a matter of time!

What ever the future holds, I know it will be an adventure, and one that I will always look forward to!
